I had a really great week. Except I still have the blood clot which is stressing me out to no end- and the more I stress, the worse I think it gets. It still is a little swollen which just scares the living crap out of me. My blood is actually too thin right now and I have to alternate between a whole pill of blood thinner and a half so I don't understand why the clot isn't going away. I guess it will just take time. Monday I start my fourth round of chemo. After this one, we will do a bone scan to see how it's working. I pray the percentage of cancer in my bones has decreased- I know in my heart it has. My bones feel so much better. If it's working, I assume we will continue with what we're doing now. I'm anxious to see what the next plan of action brings- if anything different.
On Thursday Tom and I spent the morning at the beach. We started out taking a walk at home and it was just so nice out I insisted we go. It was overcast and windy- even a little chilly but the waves were great and the shells were out in full force.

We walked up and down picking up conch shells. It was so relaxing. Friday I had lunch with Monica, a wife and friend from the squadron. In June, she and her husband adopted the cutest baby boy 2 days before my sister Rene had Chastity- it was great to get to hang out with a little one. She is the sweetest person ever. It was so great to see her and the baby. Last night Tom and I went out to dinner with Catherine and her husband Wayne and Mary and her husband Sam. Both Catherine and Mary have been so amazing through my sickness. Always calling and checking on me- hiring a cleaning lady to clean our house!!!! Yes- they did! Isn't that the BEST gift EVER! She comes ever other Tuesday. Dinner was amazing and it was wonderful to get out of the house. It has been so long since we've gone 'out'.
My sister Heather is coming to visit again on September 20th!!! Her birthday is the 21st so I'm so excited she going to be here for it. She was supposed to go to a wedding that weekend but decided instead to come see me. I feel so blessed to have such an amazing sister- she's so good to me. :) I miss my family so much. It gets really hard some days being home alone- bored. I think about what I could be doing if I were in Indiana. Neither my momma or my little sister work so I could totally hang out with them all day. And get to spend all the time in the world with my little nieces. It makes me so very sad sometimes not having them around. Tom's sister Penny and her husband are moving to SC this weekend so that totally lifts my spirits. They will be about 2 1/2 hours away which is so drivable. She works from home too so she can come visit me often. I'm really looking forward to having them here!

Do you know how much I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Fall!!!??? Tom and I got out all of out Fall decorations and I've been adding to them with trips to Y'all Mart. I love all the warm colors and the amazing scents. Jan got me a carmel scented candle that is absolutely amazing! It smells up the whole house without even being lit and it crackles when it is burning.

They are a little expensive but I so recomend getting one. I would even say it's better than a Yankee candle and I love me a Yankee candle. :) It won't be Fall time here until probably November- that's one thing I miss about Indiana. But it will come and Tom & I will have countless bonefires- drinkin' some beer, roasting s'mores- and Penny and Colin will be around too.......how fun!
Today Tom and I are going to watch football and be lazy. I've decided to become a football fan- Notre Dame and the Indianapolis Colts being the teams of choice. Tom is super excited about this. He loves to watch football.
Have a great weekend! xoxo

oh my gosh, the shells, beautiful shells, I would love to see shells like that when I'm there
Pretty pictures Alison! I am glad your sister is coming! I know what you mean about the boredom. it gives you more time for anxiety. I have really been praying about this for myself. I have decided that reading Psalms and taking having an Ativan for anxiety can really help! ha! ha! I used to say a glass of wine. I am happy to see you post then I know just how to pray for you, all my best wishes for you today!
Glad to hear that you are doing better. I hope the scan bring back good results.
Good choice on the football teams. Matt is a HUGE ND fan (so much so that our cat is named Lou after Lou Holtz) so by default, I am as well. Honestly, before him I knew nothing about football and now I look forward to football season. It's crazy!
Go Colts!! We'll be fans with you!
I'm so jealous abut the great shells you have down there! Ours are not that big at all. We need to come down and do a little shelling.
Even though you don't know me, your blog is among my bookmarks and I have kept track of your story through you and your husband - it is so inspiring and kind of special to have an "unknown" penpal to be praying for and reading about. Just had to give you major kudos on the autumn decor - I'll be doing that this week myself and will probably end up copying the huricane glass centerpiece you showed. Can't beat the Harvest Yankee candle, but I am curious about the carmel one that crackles. I live in Oregon, our Septembers and Octobers are gorgeous, crisp and colorful.... it is my favorite season too. I recommend rooting for the University of Oregon Ducks - as far as football, they are a scrappy group with LOTS of heart, always the underdogs in the big college football picture, but not to be denied..... Take care, both of you, I'll continue praying!
It's so good to hear that you are feeling better these days. My thoughts and prayers for your good health continue. I'm also happy to hear that you're getting out and seeing friends, decorating for the new season and collecting beautiful shells. Cheers to your awesome attitude!
I am so glad that your pain is less!! What an answered prayer. =) And gosh, I LOVE your fall decorations!!
And you shouldn't miss Indiana today.. it's rainy and in the 60s. That may make you feel better!!But yeah, whoo-hoo for fall!!
And tell Heather I said hello!!
What fabulous shells! But what are s'mores? Forgive me for asking, I'm English.....
S'mores are the greatest little campfire treat ever! It's a roasted marshmellow (you put it on a stick with a sharpened end and stick it above the fire until nice and golden) and a piece of chocolate in between 2 graham crackers- a little sandwhich. So freakin' good! :)
I LOVE your fall decor! And your couch looks amazing!
Yay for you!
Praying for all the strength in the world for round 4. You can do it!
