Duke Clinic
On Monday we traveled to Duke University, only to come home with more questions and no treatment plan. I did start the Sandostatin today, which will stop the tumor (if it is a Neuroendocrine Tumor) from secreting hormones and possibly shrink the tumor some. Please check out Tom's Blog for all details.

Alison, Wow! I am so glad I read Penny's blog today. I am going to keep you in my prayers daily. I know this may be a strange offer, but I do live near the Dana Faber Cancer Institute and have a guest room... if you need come see someone in Boston, please consider yourself welcome here.
Dear Ali!
Chris has kept me informed day-to-day of your happenings, and of course, I have been on your and Tom's site everyday for the last two weeks. I kept saying to myslef, I don't know what to say to Ali and millions of thoughts and prayers just run through my head...but that really doesn't matter. Point is that you know how much we all love and support you and that if you and Tom need anything, no matter what, all you have to do is call. All of my love and support and see you again soon when Chris decides to have another birthday!!!!
I love you, sweety. You looked so beautiful today -Tom
That is a beautiful picture of you on his blog!
Stay strong in spirit and take comfort from those who love you. You WILL beat this!
Just wanted to tell you that I love the haircut and that you have stunningly beautiful eyes. I'm so jealous.
WOW.. Tom sure is great with all these tests and things, isn't he? I am so happy that you have him, Alison.. he seems to be just wonderful.
And he was talking about a possible stem cell transplant?? My mom had one of those. It made her feel SO much better and shrunk her tumors emensely.
That pic he had of you.. was so beautiful. Love the new do!! =)
Still praying for you, Babe. I will not stop. =)

I am soo jealous that Mom, Penny, and Colin all get to see you and I am stuck in Indiana!!!
Oh well, my thoughts and love are with you always. I thank God everyday for the miracle and healing that He is doing in your life. And I thank Him for making Tom the strong wonderful husband he is for you!
How is nurse Tom doing with the Hypodermic?
I rock. Though I admit it was daunting. Especially breaking skin for the first time.
