Thomas got a little excited about my new do and just HAD to post pictures first. How cute. So I'm sure a lot of you have already seen said 'do', but I, of course, still have to show it off here as well. I really really love it! It feels so good. I love how something so simple as a change in hair length can brighten your life. I hadn't been out of the house do anything other than see the doc in so long- going to the salon was such a spirit booster. We celebrated afterwards with a trip to Sonic for a Strawberry Slush- simply heaven. Once we got home I was pretty tired and instead of taking a nap in bed I decided to take one on the couch. It was nice to be out of the 'cave' and in the center of the house- it was so bright and sunny.I started on Wednesday receiving the Sandostatin shot. Once I month I will get one in the muscle of my upper butt, which is incredibly painful and still hurts me. And twice a day for a week (started on Wednesday) Thomas has to give me a shot of the same stuff just less concentrated in the fatty part of my arm- which makes it pretty painless. I was really nervous about this as you can imagine and was going to have AJ (the roomie) do it just b/c I didn't want to and I didn't want to be mad at Thomas if he hurt me. The nurse showed both Tom and I how to do it and then they showed him again at the pharmacy when he picked all the stuff up so I felt really comfortable letting him do it- as did he. And so far, all but one (out of three) have been painless! He is doing an amazing job. I'm not sure I could stick him with a needle.
This morning Thomas' sister Penny and her husband Colin are coming for a short visit. (They live in Indianapolis). They are in Columbia (3 hours away) for work related things and are going to get to spend the day with us. I'm super excited to see them! And tomorrow Tom's mom, my mom, my little sister Rene and her two little girls (the new baby and Alyssa) are going to be here! They are leaving at 4AM and the drive is usually around 15 hours but they have two little ones so that definitely will be stretched longer than that. It's going to be so nice to have them here.
I think the oxycotin is kickin' in- my lids are falling. Thank you for all the love, support and prayers. Please keep the family in your prayer as well as they are traveling.

Yeah, let Tom have it for spoiling your surprise, ha
I am happy to hear you are going to be surrounded by those that love you most. I am thinking of you everyday.
Love the new do! Your smile is radiant...and an inspiration to all! Still praying....
I hate giving you shots, but love to alleviate my helplessness feeling at the same time. I'm always with you, honey, I can feel your pain. I can sense your happiness with your hair too, and wish I had that much to cut off. :)
I love the new hair cut, it makes me think of us growing up in old G Town hanging out up town. I love you sis, Rene
I was so hoping you'd be willing to sport a mullet for awhile since you were getting the cut and all. Maybe next time? Come on...someone's got to be the one that starts the trend back up again!
A girl can always use a new "do" to brighten her day. I am praying for you to have many bright days so your spirits will stay lifted. Tom sounds like a wonderful man.(I am married to a Tom, everyone needs a Tom.)
wow, you look so beautiful with your new do!!! enjoy your family visit & take care :)

Sonic and new hairdos are definitely good for the soul! You are in my thoughts (and on a post-it on my computer so I see your name and lift you up) and it's so good to hear your 'voice'. Enjoy your family time and I know lots of baby time will be simply heaven. I always feel lighter with kids around...
Ali! This is how I remember you anyways. :) You had this 'do at some point in college. Then you had that cute little flip do with all the shaggy layers and I got the same cut because I loved it. I will probably have to cut mine soon to look just like you again. ;) Anyways, you look hot. Love ya!
So I hear mom is helping remodel the garden. Way jealous!
I love the hair!
you look great. I am glad you could get out of the house and do something that made you smile. The procedures you are going through sound horrible, I wish you strength through all of this. *hug*
Hi, I just found your blog in a very roundabout way, and you wouldn't believe this, but my name is Alison (spelled the right way, also) and my husband's name is Thomas! Imagine that! Well anyway, what I really want to say is that I am sending you my best wishes of healing and you seem like such a strong and wonderful person.
Hello Alison. I'm just returning to send more happy thoughts, wishes and prayers your way. I know how a few nice words, even from complete strangers! can make a difference (from my own experience) You seem to have a TON of love and support already, just want to add a speck more.
Here are a quote that feels very fitting in respect to your blog name:
Shoot for the moon.
Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.
