In Memory of Miles Levin

UPDATE: Anderson Cooper from CNN will be doing a story tonight (Monday) at 10:00 pm on Miles.

Words cannot even begin to express my deep sadness to learn Miles Levin passed away early this morning at his home in Michigan. He was only 18. Stripped of his future by cancer. Thomas and I have been following his story the last couple months and have been so touched by his words. At times it was hard to read as it hit too close to home for us both. If this horrible disease takes me, I hope I go with half the courage and wisdom he had. He has touched so many lives and has left a legacy that will never be forgotten.

"PLEASE DON'T FORGET: Miles didn't just die; CANCER killed him."
(excerpt from his Carepage)

You can view his Carepage here. (registration required- Carepage name is levinstory) You will never view cancer the same. Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

Keep your head up sister! His spirit is a beautiful one. And what a legacy! I am sorry you are hurting and I know you must be scared, both you and Tom but you are a fighter and miracles do happen. So keep positive thoughts and prayers and we will too. You are my inspiration!

Alison, YOU have just as much courage! The sad thing is that it didn't appear that Miles had Christ as his savior, but God is the judge. Those of us that do, have hope for eternity, a brand new home, a new body that never gets sick, and NEVER EVER AGAIN will face loss, cancer, or struggles again. I believe it with all my heart. Death, esp. people who never get to experience a full life sucks horribly and hurts so bad but...

"We grieve not as those who have no hope" I Thes. 4:13
"In the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised long ages ago." Titus 1:2

Love you Alison, Jan

I think that Miles was articulate and brave, and I hope people will carry him in their memories. I will. If only to remember that there are footprints in front of where we are - to see that we're not alone.
