2:10 in the AM and Rashes

I woke up today with this crazy rash thing on my body- mostly my upper legs and knees. And in places were I have scratched, the scratch is really red and noticeable as you can see in the picture. When I went into the doc's office today, my nurse J (who has also worked for a dermatologist) said it looked like a drug rash. The only new drug I've been taking is the Neumega shot for my platelets. Dr. Chahin was in a meeting so the nurse practitioner got out the insert for the shot and sure enough it said it could cause a skin rash. Needless to say, I will not be getting another shot. If it doesn't clear up my Monday, I'm supposed to return for further action. It's not really itchy- just a little. It just looks hideous. All splotchy and stuff. I'm just glad it's not on my face or arms.

And, yes it is now 2:21 in the AM and I'm still awake. I went to bed around 9 and then Thomas got up coughing and we got up to try to find some cough drops with no luck. He eventually went back to bed and I just haven't made it there yet. I'm a night owl.....I feel more motivated during the hours most are sleeping. I like the quietness, the stillness. I'm more relaxed- feel no pressure. I should be in bed because I actually have to get up early tomorrow for my transfusion at 8! Night night. :)

Oh itchy one :( how bad does that suck. I hate that there are always side effects to the drugs that are supposed to fix the problems relating to the other drug induced side effects. LOL
I think you know what I mean xx

Ouch! That scratch looks painful. Hopefully the rash goes away soon and they find something else to replace that new drug that caused this.

Ugh..sorry to hear about your reaction--I know when I got a reaction to meds, I was miserable for several days. Hope yours clears up soon and isn't too bad. - tali

Sure hope you're feeling better and that nasty rash is gone now and your blood counts are higher. I got a really terrible rash all over my torso--the weird thing about it was I hadn't had any drugs yet-- it was about a week before chemo started. Clearly, it was stress (had identify theft going on at the same time!)

Take good care, Alison. You're a trooper and we're all cheering for you (even complete strangers like myself)
