The family has come and gone and I'm left with feelings of appreciation, love, thankfulness, renewal, sorrow......I'm sad they are gone and it's made me realize how much I miss being around them. One way to really learn to appreciate your family is to move away- and have your husband gone. Their visit has lifted my spirits and I want them to know how much it meant to me to have them here. It's gets really lonely being separated from everyone you know and love. I feel bad because we spent most of the time working on the kitchen and not much time exploring. I am so grateful for all their help. It's so nice to have my kitchen back- to have the silverware in the drawer and not on the table, to have the dishes on shelves and not thrown in a box. Everything is put back where it belongs. It looks awesome. I will post a sneak peek soon. Nothing too revealing- the final outcome is still a surprise for T. He has to wait to see it in person.
Since I didn't get to make my list of things I'm thankful for prior to Thanksgiving, I wanted to share it now:
- My family's visit
- My health and the health of my family and friends
- Living in such a beautiful place
- T not being in a combat zone
- A warm house to come home to everyday
- Wonderful friends to help pass the time away from T
- Pumpkin pie :)
- All of God's gracious gifts he continues to bless me with each day
Life is good. God is good. And Tom will be home in 23 days! Yay!
