I Can't Believe My Eyes
Can you believe this lives outside my back door!?!? It looks like it belongs in the rain forest or something. Jan wanted me to kill it but I wanted to make sure I had a good reason to- other than it being freaking scary as heck! We did some research and found this info. It's web was amazing. According to the information we found, my new friend is a male. His web was thick like silk. I'm keeping him around to eat all the annoying bugs.

Sweet Georgia Brown! You are to be applauded for resisting the urge to squash it, and extra credit for actually researching it online. Not many folks have your curiosity and gentle nature... certainly not my mom, who insisted on terminating a much smaller, much less demonic-looking arachnid spinning a web on her porch yesterday evening.
Hey, it was my idea to google South Carolina yellow spiders, and tortuosly flipped through screens of nasty spider screens to find a pic of the monster
