The family was here to visit last week for my nephew Christopher's graduation from Boot Camp- starting on Tuesday with the arrival of Heather and Michael. Wednesday we went to the beach while Thomas was at work. The weather was beautiful but the ocean was freezing! No swimming for me. Wednesday night by nephew Steven (he's a senior is High School) arrived with his grandparents, mom and girlfriend. They stayed at a hotel but Steven and Miranda had dinner with us and sat around the bonfire. It was so great to meet Miranda and hang out with them both. Early Thursday morning the rest of the family arrived- my dad, momma, brother Brian and his gf Kim. They had a long 15 hour drive and were exhausted so of to bed they went. Thursday was Family Day and the Eagle, Globe and Anchor Ceremony which Heather, Michael, Thomas and I attended. That was the first time we all got to see Christopher and it was really exciting and emotional. The rest of the family met up with us later for lunch. The graduation was Friday morning and it was so freaking cold! I wore capris with flip-flops and I thought my feet were going to fall off. Heather, Micheal, Thomas and I didn't get there early enough to have a place to sit so we walked to the PX to get warmer clothes. Thomas picked out these ballot house slipper for me to wear. They were brightly colored and a little funny looking but heck, I didn't care as long as they kept my feet warm. I also put on his Tulane sweatshirt over my coat- it came down to my knees. Needless to say, I looked pretty funny. After graduation we had everyone over to our house for a cookout. Christopher didn't get to stay long as his mom wanted to get on the road to make the trip back to Indiana.

I wish we would have gotten more time to spend with him. He looks so great and can totally tell he has matured so much. Heather and Michael left early Saturday morning. That day I took my momma and brother's gf Kim to the PX (department store on Parris Island), downtown for some more shopping and to lunch. Later that day Brian joined us for a trip to the beach for shell collecting. It was pretty chilly but we were prepared with our many layers of clothing. We had a couple bonfires too while everyone was here.

My dad especially loves to sit by the fire. Sunday we had Easter Dinner with my family and Thomas' family too. It was a house full but fun to get in the kitchen and cook some good food! The house was empty by early Monday morning.....I had such a wonderful time with them all here. The last couple days have been hard being home alone all day long. I miss my family so much and can't wait to see them again.
