Thomas & I spent yesterday evening enjoying the pond here at the Inn. It had rained earlier in the day so the weather was just perfect. I sat on a lounge chair and took a little nap while Thomas fed Romeo the swan and fished. Romeo has got quite the attitude. When Thomas ran out of bread, he hissed and made this almost growling sound! Then Thomas went into town to get a bag of ice and I was still sitting in the lounge chair talking to my sister Kim when Romeo came over and started pecking at the leather journal laying on the chair between my feet! I tried to shew him away with my book but he wouldn't move. I quickly slipped my flip-flops on and ran inside. I called Thomas to see where he was and luckly he was almost back. I had left the camera out there and was worried Romeo was going to get it. I went back outside to wait for him making sure to stay close to the door and Romeo starting coming towards me! Crazy swan! I forgot to warn you!! He will follow you everywhere! We had a stand-off in the parking lot just last week! Apparently he didn't understand English when I said, "I have no stinkin' bread for you!"
I've heard that before - that swans are pretty jerks. Sort of makes a case for reincarnation... remember a few weeks back, when that supermodel went to court for smacking somebody with her cell phone?

I think I established dominance yesterday in our hissing match. He didn't know what to do, and finally left. He no longer follows me as I fish.

That is such a cute picture. Tell Romeo to calm down....he's way to bossy!!
Perhaps you should do what Billy Madison did, and just say, "Quit looking at me swan." I'm glad Tom's not letting Romeo back him down. Tom's the real prince charming despite Romeo's name. It sounds like Romeo is lacking in the manners department.
It looks so gorgeous there....I hope you're still feeling okay.
