Today I finally started chemo- Eloxatin & Fluorouracil . As brave as I may seem to be...sometimes I get scared. And the days leading up to this (including the surgery to insert the portacath) have been scary. Just not knowing- fear of the unknown. I was at the Cancer Center from 10:30 am till 4:30 pm and slept most of it. Once the iv was connected to the portacath, the scarcest part was over. They mixed benedryl in with the drugs which totally knocked me out. I seriously slept all of about an hour of the time I was there. I hope it's like that every trip there. I came home with a fanny pack carrying a pump- I've named her Becky- that's pumping more drugs into me at a very slow rate. It's like bringing home a new baby. :) I will wear this until Wednesday and have it removed then.
My sister Heather is here for the next 2 weeks and Tom's sister Penny is here for the next week which I'm so freaking excited about!! They made us taco salad tonight for dinner- so good. AND, they cleaned our bathroom and bedroom while I was getting treatment. How freaking sweet! Tom & I are both so close to our sisters and emotionally it's going to really wonderful to have them here.

So glad to hear that more family is there with you. I'm sure that lifts your spirits. Thank you for updating. I have been checking regularly and wondering how everything was going. Also, I sent Tom an email that my boss wanted me to pass on to you. I didn't want to leave it on your blog comments.

Sweetie, I am so sorry you are going through all this scary stuff with the Chemo, but SO glad you have so much awesome, loving support. And a husband who is willing to GO TO THE MOON FOR YOU! I want to make some butterscotch cookies and mail them to you, but they would melt in this heat! Hope you and "Becky" have a good working relationship and become buddies and that you adjust to her soon. Miss you.
