As promised- here's the latest. We arrived late Monday night to the B&B. I've been having a bit of nausea lately (actually since Friday) so we left a couple hours later than we wanted but no big deal. Our room is wonderful!!! It's called the 'Bluebonnet Room' and is very bright and cheery. It's accented with blues and yellows and paintings of bluebonnets everywhere. Tom has served me breakfast in bed the last 2 days and I'm in heaven. :)
My appointment at Duke yesterday was just to inject the radioactive dye so it lasted all of a couple hours. I don't have to be back until Thursday for the scan! After the appointment we headed to Panera Bread for lunch and then back to the room for a long nap. Tom went exploring a little while I still slept- I tell you what, this pain medicine makes me so sleepy. I could sleep all day if I allowed myself to. Once he returned we decided to see if they had a Barnes and Noble- one of our favorite places to hang out. Sure enough they did! My belly wasn't feeling the greatest but he said it was only 4 miles away so I decided to go. Never trust a man when he tells you exact mileage to a destination. 40 minutes later and a call to his sister for directions again, we found it. I still don't know why he didn't write down the directions himself. But we got there and had a great time together and that's what matters. :) As we were leaving I asked if he knew how to get back- his reply- yes. What he meant to say was no. It took us an hour! It was a fun little outing and I'm no better at directions either.
I got a couple great little purchases at Barnes- skinny colored pens to use in my journal and a daily devotional book for women. I'm really looking forward to using this as a tool to grow closer to God- to strengthen our relationship.
Today- no appointments!! We plan to spend the day doing whatever we want. Maybe a pedicure, magazine reading by the pond, shopping trip to Super Target!, fishing, more reading....whatever we want. I have another appointment here at Duke on Monday so we might just stay until then. Which I don't mind at all- I totally feel like I'm on vacation.

You suck for telling everyone. But, I admit I sucked at driving last night. How fun!
You are THE most positive person, Miss Allison. Do you know that? I hope you aren't too sleepy to enjoy your little vacation. =)
Nap, nap, nap...and pedicures!! Now THAT is a great combination!
So glad you're having a nice trip.
By the way, I went to school down the road from Duke at UNC-Chapel Hill. However, I did spend some time in Durham.
While you're there, you should go to this really great coffee shop and bakery:

And, there are DIRECTIONS on the website for how to get there, so hopefully it would be a quick ride. :)
