Productivity

Despite not feeling so well these last few days, I've managed to check things of off the to-do list. And what a great feeling that is.

Friday night I drove to Bluffton to pick up some things for a project I have in the works- Thomas' Christmas gift. I'm so excited about it! Saturday I went to a local church bazaar and then to the PX on Parris Island. It's like a department store but no sales tax! marine corp exchange I love driving through the 'Depot'- Marines are made there you know. I can't help but feel a sense of pride watching the future of the Marine Corp drill around the parade deck and marching up and down the roadside. Future Marines I also went downtown and got some ice cream at my favorite ice cream shop. Southern Sweets I was disappointed to learn they aren't serving peach ice cream- my favorite- until next summer. Boo hoo. So I got cookies n' cream instead. Cookies n CreamI sat in a white rocker just outside the shop rocking, relaxing and people watching.

I'm going home again this weekend. My niece Alyssa is turning a year old on Tuesday so the family is having a big bash for her. I can't wait! Family gatherings with my family are fun. Big bon fires and lots of good conversation. My niece Abby also has a birthday soon- she is turning 7 tomorrow! I still remember the day she was born. My sister and her husband tried for so long to get pregnant with her- their second daughter. Once they gave up on the idea of having another child- she got pregnant. I think of that story often when I feel something isn't possible. God works in wondrous ways. Rene and Alyssa are then flying back to SC with me for the week. It's going to be so different having a baby in the house! I hope the kitties are good with her. I'm excited to have them here.

Thomas wants to get a tattoo. Check out his blog for a picture. I'm not down with it. I don't like tattoos. Never have.
